Intro

I have chosen to study the Dani Tribe of the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. When confronted with the task of finding a culture, I wanted to pick a culture as uncivilized as possible. I have always affiliated Papua New Guinea to being a very aboriginal place, and one which I do not have substantial knowledge of; Therefore, I decided to pick a tribe from PNG.
I chose the Dani Tribe specifically because it was the last tribe to be discovered in that area, having been discovered in 1938. I am hoping that, from investigating the Dani, I will learn about a different way of life in terms of religion, language, social norms, and taboo practices. Personally, the area of taboo practices draws most of my interest. Having grown up as a devil's advocate of sorts, I've been one to look at both sides to a story/event/idea. Studying the Dani will be a good exercise in keeping an open mind when investigating behavior which would most likely be considered taboo in the United States, but a social norm for them. I'm looking forward to it, and check in for further information.
